Our diet-free approach to weight control offers a realistic and long-lasting solution to the problems of over-eating.
Rather than subjecting you to the ups-and-downs, the temporary highs and frequent disappointments that accompany traditional weight-loss programmes, we help you to change the way you actually think and feel around food.
The problem with dieting is that by subjecting you to unsustainable eating regimes it sets you up for failure in the longer term. Cumulatively this sense of failure does nothing to help your feelings of self-esteem. - the loss of which can be a reason for embarking upon a weight-loss programme in the first place.
Diets can also lead to a faddish approach to eating which might actually have a detrimental effect on your health. We believe a balanced approach to what you eat is the best way forward - which means allowing yourself the occasional treat or indulgence, as well as eating healthier foods.
Coaching, Hypnotherapy and Self-Help
We use a combination of coaching, hypnotherapy and self-help techniques to get you the results you want, drawing on approaches popularised by Paul McKenna.
As a consequence of this approach past clients have reported that they have drastically reduced their portion sizes and eliminated their tendency to binge or comfort eat.
They have also experienced an increase in their motivation and desire to take exercise and eat more healthy food.
Our Programme
Our one-to-one programme runs for five to six sessions. The early sessions will be used to set goals, establish the basics of the approach and to lay down essential ground-rules.
A mid-programme session will involve relaxation/hypnosis. From this a CD will be made for you to use regularly at home .
Concluding sessions will be used for consolidation and support and if need be to deal with other issues associated with your eating habits, such as emotional eating or cravings.
The final couple of sessions can be spread over a longer time period to support you on your road to independence and a balance attitude to food.
At this stage issues around rate of weight-loss can also be addressed, such as the role of what has been termed 'the mindless margin'
